Grotesque Illusionist Sculpture

His work combines the vision of the author’s psychological, religious, ideological and aesthetic problems. American Chris Cooksey  pursues the idea of exposing the illusions created by us as a result of the fear that lives in our minds.

Chris Cooksey  – recognized as a contemporary artist, whose art belongs to the fantastic realism. He works in the technology mix of media, creating a grotesque collage and installation, telling that person lives in a cruel world in which he is only a small part of the huge Whole. The whole picture is created by first built by the author in his head, but in most of the artist can improvise and add some necessary details. Chris Cooksey (Kris Kuksi) was born March 2, 1973 in Springfield, Missouri and grew up in nearby Kansas City. Chris spent his childhood in a rustic solitude and isolation, living with an alcoholic stepfather, older brother and mother who worked all the time. All this is probably deposited in the minds of youth. His interest in all the unaccustomed later reflected in his dark arts. All that is ugly, roused in him admiration. The art of the artist as a young man – a kind of breakthrough personal freedom from the negative influence of the environment on his mind.
